About me

Charlie
I've been deeply involved in music since I was a child and a budding pianist at 5. I spent my youth deeply involved in music, in orchestras, in choirs and jamming out on the piano at parties. It is the greatest gift for a child music, not only as an tool for expression for the soul in later years but at the time. It was through music that I attained a music scholarship for secondary school and it was through music that I travelled to many parts of the world while presently being hired to produce soundtracks for short films.
I grew up in one of the Queen's choirs - the Temple Church Choir in Fleet street - and became one of the Head choirboys mentoring children in music when I was only 13 and continued performing all throughout school and university. I've performed in the premier of Tavener's Veil of the Temple and have toured in the US twice and once in Hungary.

During my time at University I played the keys in a funk band that played all around Bristol jamming to classic Stevie Wonder tracks and Jamiroquai and afterwards I spent a year teaching English and tutoring piano in Argentina in primary and secondary school ages 6-16. At the moment I run a Jam School night designed to help people who aren't yet confident enough to get on stage to learn the skills to do just that.

I take inspiration from the great pianists especially Oscar Peterson, Thelonious Monk, Randy Newman, and of course Chilly Gonzales and logically thereby have a passion for playing blues, jazz, and pop - because of course who wouldn't like their music to be popular?
